A mobile software company is looking for a motivated Systems Administrator with solid experience. This roll shares responsibilities for the care and feeding of over 100 UNIX systems spread cross multiple locations (both domestic & international).


Sample Job Responsibilities:

•General care & feeding for UNIX across multiple physical locations.
•Learn & understand System company’s product line; installation & maintenance
•Maintain accurate system inventory
•Maintain backup schedule & tape rotation
•Manage mail subsystems (sendmail/postfix),
•Manage DNS and other day-to-day unix systems
•Build, rack and configure SUN servers & peripherals
•Support QA & Engineering teams w/ general UNIX expertise

Required Qualifications:

•Strong analytical, teamwork, and problem solving skills
•Strong written & verbal communication skills
•Technical expertise in Sun Solaris & general UNIX variants
•Ability to handle equal share of 7x24 on-call responsibilities
•Ability to provide timely (<45min) on-site support to RWC systems)
•Ability to plan & implement detailed projects
•Ability to multi-task with projects of varying priority
•Ability to physically lift and rack Sun Servers
•Ability to maintain focus for extended periods of time (8hrs+)
•Ability & willingness to travel (domestic & international)

Desired Qualifications:

•Prior experience with Veritas Clustering (and related tools)
•Prior experience with Big Brother monitoring tools
•Prior experience with Hitachi & LSI storage
•Oracle DBA skills
